    What is a QR Code?

QR codes indicate Quick-response codes, which are two-dimensional barcodes containing data that take you to a website or application.

The basic idea behind a QR code is to form a picture that any mobile device can read (or scan) with a particular QR code scan application and transfer it to something meaningful like a website or an application.

A QR code merely consists of a black square and dots (yess!). That, essentially, is what a QR code seems like. The pattern on QR codes is varied, starting from alphanumeric, numeric, binary, or Kanji (a kind of Japanese letter).

    How are QR Codes scanned?

QR Codes are digitally scanned. they’re made of blocks and squares – or pixels – which may be read by a picture sensor and interpreted by a system processor. The series of dots and squares indicate position, alignment, timing, version information, format information, error correction key, and a neighborhood of a quiet zone. The three most visible large squares help the QR reader or barcode scanner to identify and orient the image quickly. To scan a QR code using your phone, you want to have a QR code reader installed. It’s as easy as holding your device’s camera over the QR code and your phone would automatically scan.

    Types of QR Codes

In the development of QR codes, there are two types which were created:

Static QR Code: The destination site URL is placed directly into the QR code and can’t be modified. This QR code type isn’t as useful because of the next one.

Dynamic QR codes: you employ a brief URL for the QR code which then re-directs users to your destination site URL. This short URL works like an intermediary that connects the code with the info. After the QR code has been generated, you’ll change the short URL.

How to make a QR Code?

It’s pretty easy to make a QR code, there are 7 steps to create a QR code:

Step 1: Choose a QR code generator

You might find your QR code generator from these lists:

    • Beaconstac QR Code generator
    • The-QR code generator
    • QR Stuff
    • QR-code-generator
    • Kaywa QR codes
    • Create QR codes by Google app engine
Step 2: Choose the content you wish to market

After choosing a generator from one of the above, you may choose the content type. There is a URL, Text, Email, Social page, App, etc for you to decide on.

Step 3: Enter data within the form appearing

Let’s choose the content type you’re gonna promote with the QR code, then you’ll see a form appearing where you fill in the information regarding your campaign.

Step 4: Customize your QR code

This is a vital step that affects your QR code campaign result. If. you would like people to note your Qr code, you would like to create it outstanding and delightful. With most QR generated, you’ll be able to design your QR code with custom frames, your brand logo, a color palette, and a CTA.

Step 5: Test the QR code

Because of the planning and customization, your QR code is often hard to read. Use different QR code reader applications to test whether the code is scannable with them.
Also, don’t forget to test the destination that the code results in.

What information can a QR Code contain?

You can store an excellent amount of knowledge. The foremost popular information they contain is website addresses and links which offer multimedia content like music, image galleries, etc. QR codes can contain short texts, SMS, all types of URLs and websites (Youtube, Facebook, Instagram, Homepages), contact details, telephone numbers, email messages, WiFi access credentials, geo and navigation data, and far more. But consider that not all of those data are scannable by any QR code reader.

    Conclusion

QR Codes have various benefits and can increase the efficiency of the business that uses them. QR codes add an interactive component by turning static content into dynamic call-to-action buttons. From asking customers to give a Google review to re-directing them to a branded Facebook page, you have a lot of options to engage customers. Dynamic QR codes are an amazing tool for any marketer, it’s free media exposure if you use it correctly and smartly.
