US Warns China: China May Face Consequences For Helping Russia

US warns China: The US has warned China that assisting Russia in evading sanctions during its invasion of Ukraine will result in “consequences.”

Unnamed US sources reportedly told numerous US news sites that once the invasion began, Russia requested military aid from China.

The Chinese foreign ministry did not explicitly answer the claim. However, accused the US Warns China of spreading false information about China on purpose.

The exchanges take place ahead of a meeting between the top US and Chinese officials in Rome.

According to US media reports citing US sources, Russia has approached China for military technology, including drones, in recent days.

On Monday, in Rome, Mr. Sullivan will meet Yang Jiechi, a member of China’s top decision-making body, the Politburo. As well as the head of the Central Foreign Affairs Commission.

According to the Reuters news agency, Mr. Sullivan would lay out the penalties and isolation China will face if it increases its support for Russia during the meeting.

China has remained silent on Russia’s incursion, saying only that Moscow’s “legitimate security concerns” should be treated seriously.

China was one of 35 countries that abstained when the United Nations General Assembly voted to condemn Russia’s invasion earlier this month.

At the same time, Beijing has stated its “unwavering support” for Ukraine’s sovereignty. It has also called for peace. And stated that it is willing to assist in the diplomatic resolution of the conflict. Several countries have requested China to do more to prevent Russia from invading their country.

No Limit Alliance

The EU and the US Warns China to support Ukraine, but China supports Russia; if this is the case, the war in Ukraine will become even more serious.

The White House has opted to make its claim public just before Vice President Joe Biden’s top security adviser meets with China’s top diplomat. It looks to be a deliberate attempt to put pressure on China to confirm or refute the allegations.

Remember that just weeks earlier, Presidents Xi and Putin announced a new “no limit” alliance. The announcement took place on the eve of the Winter Olympics in Beijing. Military assistance may be a component of that.

However, in the days following Russia’s incursion, China slammed the UK, the US, and others for arming Ukraine’s military, claiming that they were “throwing fuel to the fire.”

If the US intelligence assessment is true, and Beijing complies with the request, they will be “adding fuel” to the fire.
