You’d probably say ‘Google’ first if I asked you to name the best search engines in the world. And you won’t be wrong. But some people must wonder if people use search engines other than Google. Yes! It’s no secret that Google reigns supreme in the online search, but there are alternatives. You’ll discover the world’s most popular search engines in 2022 in this article.

Furthermore, several of these alternative search engines are extremely popular in their own right — they don’t appear to be as prevalent when compared to Google, the giant titan.

Others dominate a particular region, such as China, South Korea, or the Czech Republic. So, if you want to know the best search engines in the world, keep scrolling.

World’s Most Popular Search Engines In 2022

    2. Microsoft Bing
    3. Yahoo
    4. Baidu
    5. Yandex
    6. DuckDuckGo

    GOOGLE

There’s no need for any more introductions. Google is currently in first place in search, with a staggering 88.28% lead over second-placed Bing.

According to Statista and StatCounter figures, Google dominates the market in all countries and on all devices (desktop, mobile, and tablet).

The quality of Google’s search results has made it the most popular and trusted search engine. Google employs advanced algorithms to provide consumers with the most accurate results.

The Google ranking algorithm has expanded with hundreds of other parameters (including machine learning) over the years. It continues to be the most dependable way to locate what you’re looking for on the Internet.

    MICROSOFT BING

With an 8.04 percent market share, Bing is the world’s second-largest search engine. While Bing is a minor player compared to Google, it has a sizable market share in many nations.

Microsoft owns and operates the search engine, which evolved from the earlier search engines MSN Search and Windows Live Search. The search engine, like Google, organizes search results into tabs such as photos, videos, maps, and news.

This is a search engine that businesses should not overlook.

Bing receives 1.3 billion monthly hits despite not having as many people as Google.

    BAIDU

Meet Baidu, the world’s third-largest search engine, with a market share of 7.34 percent.

This is China’s most used search engine. Baidu has an absolute monopoly in China, with 74.73 percent of the market in February 2019. Conversely, Google has only a 2% share of China’s search engine market.

Baidu was created in 2000 and is headquartered in Beijing, China’s capital.

It is one of the world’s most considerable artificial intelligence and internet service providers. Outside of China, however, Baidu has virtually little clout.

This is commonly referred to as “China’s Great Firewall.”

    YAHOO

With a 3.39 percent global market share, Yahoo! comes in fourth on the list of the world’s major search engines.

Jerry Yang and David Filo created the company way back in 1994. Jerry and David’s Guide to the World Wide Web was the initial name for the website, but it was immediately renamed Yahoo!, which stood for “Yet Another Hierarchical Organized Oracle.”

In 2000, Yahoo! Mail and other web services catapulted the business to a $125 billion valuation. Then things started to go downhill. In 1998, Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin attempted to sell the company to Yahoo! for a pittance of $1,000,000.

However, they were turned down by Yahoo!

This ranking of the top ten search engines in the world is likely to alter in the coming years.

Although one thing appears certain: Google’s reign will be long and prosperous. Would you consider switching to a different search engine, such as Yahoo, DuckDuckGo, or Naver, if you’re a Google user? Please let us know in the comments section below!
